Pendleside Hospice appeal for four triathletes to help raise cash
6:00am Saturday 28th January 2012

A HOSPICE has been given four free places in the Pendle Triathlon – and is looking for triathletes to take up the challenge.
The tough, but increasingly popular, triathlon is to take place on Sunday, April 29 and will challenge competitors to swim 750 metres and cycle 22.4kilometres, before finishing with a 5.4k off-road run.
The money raised will go to Pendleside Hospice Fundraiser Lisa Riding said: “This is a brilliant opportunity for an individual to test their stamina, strength, and determination, in the name of charity.
“This is also a great prospect for Pendleside to raise vital funds for local people who need the care and support the hospice provides.”
Each potential contestant will be given full support by the hospice’s fundraising department.
Triathletes don’t necessarily have to have taken part in similar events, but must have the drive, willpower, and enthusiasm, to not only do the training and the race itself, but to raise sponsorship money.
Anyone who would like take part in the triathlon in aid of the hospice can contact the fundraising department on 01282 440140, or lisa.riding@ pendleside.org.uk
